Native American “navajo” prints are a must this season. Opt for a cozy sweater or poncho in this print to get the look. They’re perfect for cooler temperatures! Stone Cold Fox makes navajo printed shorts too which I love.

Wedge Booties

It’s officially fall and wedge booties are the season’s hottest item to add to your wardrobe. Wedge booties are a funky addition to outfits and more sporty then heels. They come in suede, leather, fur and other trendy fabrics and typically hit at the ankle or sometimes a little above (either look great, just pick what works best with your height). Wear these stylish booties with shorts, skirts or dresses, best if above the knee, and opt for tights to embrace colder weather. I’ve gathered a few of my favorite wedge booties I recently came across.

High Low

The high low look comes in tops, skirts and dresses. They’re fun to wear and a fashion-forward statement this season. This trend hasn’t hit very hard yet, but I’m going to guess it’s going to be very popular, very soon. Pair a high low skirt or dress with wooden platforms and a wide-brim floppy hat for a retro summer look.

Kimono / Chiffon Cardigan

The kimono, as I like to call it, is also known as a sheer cardigan, a cape, an open blouse or chiffon top. Despite name calling, there are a few things to keep in mind while shopping for a kimono… the fabric should be a sheer, lightweight chiffon or silk-like material and the fit should be loose and flowy, with long, wide sleeves. The length of the back just depends on what type of look you’re going for and what you plan to wear it with. A longer kimono is more dramatic and fashion forward such as the pink kimono below from LF La Jolla. A shorter version, hitting around the back pockets of your jeans is a great look too. I suggest pairing the kimono with bell-bottom jeans or shorts.

Bright Jeans

Colored skinny jeans have been around for the last couple years, but recently they have been making quite a statement in bright colors such as bright blue, pink and red. Bright jeans are a fun addition to your summer wardrobe and look great worn with a blazer, leather jacket or a crochet top like below. Bright jean shorts are also a summer must.

Crochet has officially made a big come-back. Some might find this trend to be too similar to their grandmother’s doilies, but it’s quite stylish so just embrace it and forget about its resemblance! You can find just about any item in crochet these days… shorts, vests, dresses, tops, and even shoes. I’m loving crochet vests and beach cover ups.

You might hear “trousers” and think “boring work slack”, but that is surely not the case with this season’s stylish trouser. The fit should be loose and comfortable, with a higher waist hitting right under the belly button. The leg gets slimmer towards the bottom and stops at the ankle, sometimes cuffed at the bottom depending on the trouser style. Trousers look great with a delicate top tucked in to show off the detail of the top of the pant like the examples below.
